Hello and welcome back for the 2016 - 2017 school year. My name is Ms. Christine and I will one of the science teachers this year at EMS.
I am excited to begin the new school year and hope that your family is excited too! I am looking forward to teaching years 7 and 8 general science, IGCSE Biology for years 10 and 11, and a brand new course, child development, for incoming year 10s. I am originally from the US but have lived abroad for the past three years. I graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in both biology and education. This will be my second year working in the science department at EMS – Al Khor. Student’s this year will learn a variety of topics, depending on their year group. Years 7 and 8 will split their topics between the three terms. Term 1 will be focused on biology, in term 2 they’ll start getting into chemistry, and then in term 3 they’ll end their year studying topics in physics. Years 10 and 11 will focus solely on biology as they begin their preparations for the IGCSE Exams. Child Development is a new course to EMS which will cover the physical, mental, and social development of a child from conception to age 7. Throughout the year students will be given a variety of assignments to take home and complete. I encourage you to ask them about their projects and guide them in their studies as best you can. I look forward to seeing everyone back at school and meeting those who are new this year. See you Sunday! Ms. Christine Comments are closed.
