LEGO Mindstorms Drag Racing Competition Rules
This competition is open to students aged 19 and under. The students work with a mentor coach to design, build and program their drag racing robot.
Teams consist of two or three students and a mentor coach.
Date: Monday, March 13 2017, 8:00am - 1:00pm
Location: Building 17, Duhail Campus, College of the North Atlantic - Qatar
The race track mat is made of 10m x 1m white vinyl and has a one metre start zone, a seven metre racing zone, and a three metre stopping zone. There is a 2 cm black line down the centre of the track and the edges of the race zone have a five cm red line. There is a 2cm wide green line as the start line, with a small gap where this line intersects the center black line. There is a 2cm blue line at the finish line of the seven metre racing zone.
The robot cannot exceed 50cm x 50cm x 50cm in size at the start of the race.
The robot can contain only LEGO MINDSTORM parts from EV3 and/or NXT kits or expansion kits.
There is no limit to the number of intelligent bricks, motors, or sensors in the robot.
